Don’t Go Yet!

It’s been two months since Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes ended things, but a source says the songstress is still hoping for a second chance with her ex.

The “Senorita” duo dated for two years until Mendes, 23, slammed the brakes on their romance last November “because he felt the relationship had gotten stagnant,” spills the source. But Cabello, 24, “is by no means over him, which is why she’s been trying to show Shawn what he’s missing by posting all these sexy bikini pics.”

The Canadian crooner, though, “is more into himself right now and is telling friends he’s gotten into a creative groove and is writing more songs now that he’s single,” the insider states. While the exes reunited in Miami on January 6, “Shawn just wants to be friends right now,” continues the source.

"Camilla has been desperately trying to keep the communication open, but it's not going her way," adds the source.

As OK! previously reported, the Cinderella actress was "very upset" when the former flames initially decided to call things off.

"It was really hard for a few days but she has been spending a lot of time with friends and keeping busy," a source stated at the time. "The relationship was getting stale and complacent and they decided they are better off being friends."

But the "Havana" singer has also been going through her own personal mental health struggles over the past few years, especially because of the COVID-19 pandemic, which she recently opened up about.

"I felt so anxious, cripplingly anxious. I just felt really unstable, and I just felt a mess because suddenly, this thing that was distracting me, my work and filming, was not there," she said at the time, as OK! learned. "And so I was just left with my anxiety and my mind."

"It was getting in the way of my relationship. It was getting in the way of my friendships, my time at home," she said. "I definitely asked for help. I asked for time. And I learned a lot of tools."
