Joshua Zirkzee sends new message posing in Manchester United colours, Jeremie Frimpong responds

Exciting forward Joshua Zirkzee is the club’s first signing of the summer transfer window.

Joshua Zirkzee clinched his move to Manchester United over the weekend, with Manchester United announcing the deal before the Euro 2024 final.

Manchester United paid £36 million for the Bologna forward, who is now taking a FIFA-enforced break after his international exploits.

Zirkzee has been presented as a United player, although his squad number is yet to be announced. The signing has already been welcomed by new teammate Bruno Fernandes.

Joshua Zirkzee sends new message

Joshua Zirkzee is excited to clinch his move to Manchester United. His first words as a Red Devils player expressed his desire to work with Erik ten Hag.

Last night Zirkzee sent out a new message on social media, wearing a Manchester United jumper, behind his printed shirt – without a number.

The Netherlands international wrote: “An honor. Happy and proud to be part of this club. Can’t wait to get started!”

Zirkzee’s message elicited replies from several of his international colleagues who are pleased to see him land his dream move.

One of these is Bayer Leverkusen defender Jeremie Frimpong, who has intermittently been linked with joining Manchester United in the past, via Fabrizio Romano.

Arsenal and Tottenham defenders Jurrien Timber and Micky van de Ven also reached out. They will both be lining up against Zirkzee next season and trying to stop him.

Zirkzee will be on Manchester United tour

Joshua Zirkzee will be on Manchester United’s tour of the USA, and he may not be the only summer signing.

While Zirkzee is United’s first addition, several others could follow, most likely his Dutch teammate Matthijs de Ligt.

De Ligt was not among the Dutchmen who commented on Zirkzee’s post, he did not add fuel to the fire – although he did wish Donny van de Beek well on his exit to Girona last week.
