Brits say Americans are missing one thing when it comes to festival culture - ‘It shows’

Two British friends have trashed American festival culture as they claimed that Brits just know how to do it better because of their mindset.

British people are constantly taking shots at Americans and vice-versa, sparking hilarious videos and heated debates between the two populations. Just recently, we were treated to the brutal fact that British people make better hot chocolate than most Americans.

Americans just don’t have the same attitudes as British people

Sitting down on the Antics With Ash podcast, Ash Holme (@Ash_Holme) and Jack Remmington (@Jackremmington) discussed the innate difference between British and American festival cultures.

Ash began by saying that the phrase “American festival” evokes feelings of Coachella, fringe skirts, and celebrities like Bella Hadid.

“No American has had a pint of p**s thrown over them and it shows,” Jack added. “Like, you have not been to a festival unless you have been doused in urine.”

Though most would say that such an experience is horrid, even at a ginger festival, Ash and Jack described past ordeals as a coming-of-age moment. Jack said he “wouldn’t be the man I am today” without the time someone pooed on his tent.

The friends further claimed that in Americans are typically less carefree at festivals, wanting snaps for their Instagram, while Brits go to lose themselves and come home a mess.

“For British people, it’s like, the goal is to become the worst version of yourself,” Ash added.

Such statements on cultural differences are not unheard of on social media, where someone earlier posted: “Just watched Fyre Festival n all I can think about is how lit it would be if that was British kids n not stuck up rich Americans. No festival? Ok, it’s lit let’s mudslide all over the gaff and start football chants till we can get home. Cheese sandwich for dinner? FITTTTT.”

Ash and Jack’s TikTok amassed nearly 40k likes as both Americans and British people passionately debated in the comment section.

One Brit quipped: “I want Maximum fun, minimal photo evidence. I don’t make the rules. I need at least one story in the group where everyone’s shocked that you’ve made it out alive.”

“I was ready to be exhausted by another Brits v. Americans take. This went so left from what I was expecting. I would be terrified to attend a Brit festival,” another wrote.

On the American side, one person said: “Honestly I have no problem saying id rather have an American experience like whaaaaat.”

“I’ve never been happier to be an American. Because no, thank you. I’m so good on that,” another added.
