Prince William ran away red-faced when he met his childhood crush for the first time

As one of the most prominent members of the British Royal Family, William, Prince of Wales has led an impressive life on his road to be King.

Though some British people would happily abolish the Royal Family, there is no denying their status and pull in the modern age. They are often front and center alongside some of the world’s most powerful people, like Prince Harry and President Joe Biden.

As arguably one of the most famous families on the planet, besides the Kardashians of course, the monarchy is often regarded as the epitome of a British family.

As such, millions across the globe are enthralled by even the simplest of their life details, like Kate Middleton’s outfits.

That isn’t to say they aren’t like every other family, packed to the brim with controversies and drama that keep the public hooked like a reality TV show.

Whether it’s the ongoing feud between Prince Harry and the rest of the family, or the handling of Kate Middleton’s devastating health news, royalists are rarely left without juicy headlines.

If Prince Harry is the renegade rebel of the family, and King Charles is the firm leader, then Prince William is truly Britain’s golden boy. Let’s take a look at this impressive life.

Prince William is not the boy next door – or is he?

Despite being thought of as the people’s Prince, it’s important to understand that Prince William, 42, was raised in an environment worlds away from most of us.

Prince William, full name William Arthur Philip Louis, was born to Diana, Princess of Wales and Prince Charles back in 1982.

As the grandson of the late Queen Elizabeth II, William was afforded a life many of us could not begin to comprehend. He was educated at some of the most noteworthy institutions like Eton, before enrolling in the University of St Andrews to study geography.

Following his education, Prince William boasted an impressive career in the military alongside his younger brother.

He trained for both the Royal Navy and Royal Air Force, becoming a sub-lieutenant in the former and a flying officer in the latter. The eldest child of King Charles later moved to become a rescue pilot, which he transferred to his work with the Air Ambulance Service.

If you said that Prince William had an extraordinary childhood, then you wouldn’t be wrong, but he also had experiences many of us can somewhat relate to. On one such occasion, he sprinted away from childhood crush Cindy Crawford who had been invited to the house by his mother.

One day, that boy with the “Wombat” nickname will also sit on the UK’s throne as the next King. While the thought of the crown has weighed heavily on William over the years, he earlier tested the waters by stepping in for his ill father.

According to one psychic, that moment could come sooner than expected and see the King hand the throne to William.

The Prince of Wales is a busy man

After leaving the East Anglian Air Ambulance in 2017, Prince William returned to royal duties where he has largely stayed since.

Most of the time, the job entails meeting with organizations, charities, and groups to push their message into the future.

Outside of external groups, Prince William has launched a number of charities close to his heart including The Earthshot Prize, United for Wildlife, Homewards, and Heads Together.

Of course, there are also the lavish parties and events that the Royal Family has come to be known for.

His mother was an iconic Royal

We can’t talk about Prince William without at least dedicating a section to his late mother, Princess Diana. Often pegged as the “People’s Princess”, Diana was a force to be reckoned with.

She often did away with Royal tradition, treating the British public like actual people instead of fans. Though such behaviors caused friction in her own life, Princess Diana continued to shock viewers with compassionate moments like visiting people in war-torn areas.

Most will know that Princess Diana’s private life disintegrated after numerous controversies that some claim were deliberately set up by the Royal Family to take her down.

The drama culminated in the infamous Panorama interview with Martin Bashir where Diana seemingly dropped the bomb that her husband was having a fling with the future Queen, Queen Consort Camilla.

Despite passing away in 1997 following a fatal car crash, Princess Diana continues to make an impression to this day as people compare her with Kate Middleton.

Prince William’s marriage to Kate Middleton

Prince William met his future wife, Catherine Middleton, while attending a fashion show at the University of St Andrews. Kate was reportedly wearing a see-through lace dress at the time.

Despite several breakups on their relationship journey, the Princes of Wales and Kate married at Westminster Abbey in 2011.

Prince William’s dedication to his wife has been apparent for years, whether that be through adoring Valentine’s Day gifts or standing by her side through her cancer diagnosis.

That isn’t to say that being married to a Prince is all fun and games, as Kate has also been subjected to her fair amount of criticism.

William is a family man

While the Kings of old had servants raise their offspring, Prince William seems to be a very hands-on father to George, 10, Charlotte, 9, and Louis, 6.

Part of that is breaking away from age-old tradition, offering his kids a more contemporary version of royal life, but he also enjoys a nice day out like any good father.
