'Took control': National media left in awe of £50m attacker who Tottenham are interested in at Euro 2024

One player who Tottenham Hotspur are said to be considering a move this summer for has continued to excel at Euro 2024.

Judging by reports across the summer, Ange Postecoglou is determined to bring in a new forward in addition to Timo Werner in the coming months – who has extended his loan for another year.

The Tottenham boss wants to add a wide-forward who can also operate in central positions, a tactically adept profile.

Although it remains to be seen if the club can find a buyer, Richarlison could leave Tottenham this summer, which would present an opportunity for game time.

Despite improving under Postecoglou, the Brazilian doesn’t excel in one area of his game, perhaps considered a jack of all trades but master of none.

When it comes to potentially replacing Richarlison, RB Leipzig’s Dani Olmo has been linked with Tottenham, perhaps someone on Johan Lange’s shortlist.

TBR Football recently shared that Spurs have been informed about Olmo’s £50m release clause this summer.

And judging by Olmo’s latest display at Euro 2024, that price tag could be good value.

Tottenham target Dani Olmo ‘improved Spain considerably’ in Georgia comeback

Despite starting the game from the bench, owing to the riches of talent Spain have in attacking areas, Olmo was able to change the game when introduced in the 52nd minute.

Local media celebrated Olmo’s showing, and perhaps explained why the Spaniard could be an excellent addition for Postecoglou.

Estadio Deportivo recognised Olmo’s instant impact, saying the Bundesliga forward ‘took control’.

They wrote: “He came on for Pedri and the Spanish national team’s game improved considerably.

“He took control of Spain’s danger and his constant one-twos with Lamine Yamal dismantled the Georgian defence.

“He put the fourth on the scoreboard with a left-footed shot that hit the post.”

AS thought Olmo took a little longer to find his feet in the game, but proclaimed him as the best player on the pitch for Spain once he got going.

Their review read: “It took him a while to get in, but when he did it was noticeable.

“He’s the one with the best shot from mid-distance and he scored like that. It wasn’t that difficult, but no one else was as good.”

Dani Olmo is the perfect Ange Postecoglou player

In fact, Sport 45 even thought that Olmo deserved to start in Spain’s quarter-final against Germany on the evidence of his minutes.

They shared: “He gave the team a lot of dynamism by playing between the lines.

“He has already reached his peak form. He scored the fourth goal and claimed himself as a starter.”

Tactically flexible, impactful off of the bench and a team player – Olmo really is the perfect addition for Postecoglou this summer.

In truth, the same can all be said about Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze – both would be excellent signings for Tottenham.

And after their move for Leeds United’s Archie Gray on Sunday, it seems as if Spurs’ summer is beginning to heat up.
