TRUTH ON BEING AN XXL FRESHMAN: “XXL Freshman always been a big thing that people look at. Before I was rapping, I used to look at XXL Freshman. When I first started rapping, I used to look at XXL Freshman. Everybody wanted to be part of XXL Freshman. [My favorite Freshman Class was 2016], the 21 Savage and Lil Uzi Vert class. [I started paying attention to XXL Freshman when I] probably started rapping, when I was, like, 17.
[What I bring to the class that’s different from other artists is] the women. It took me a minute [to figure out my sound]. I’m still figuring out my flow. I still ain’t got it. I’m still trying to find it. But what I’m doing right now working. I’m just trying to perfect it.
[When the cover comes out], I’m popping champagne. Like we won a champion game. ’Cause I ball hard.
[When my fans see me on the cover] I don’t know [how they’ll react]. I gotta love-hate relationship with my fans. It’s either gonna be good or it’s either gonna be bad. I don’t know how they gonna react. It’s gonna be a surprise. [I think it’s important to participate in opportunities like this because] it’s bigger looks.
